Dutch eel business closes after five centuries in London
A five century old Dutch eel business in London has closed. Two Dutch eel schuyts moored at London Bridge were sold and repurposed. The enterprise began about 1412 and, during the 1665 plague, kept supplying eels to the afflicted. A charter allegedly granted free moorings for all time.

Yankee Clipper Lands In Baltimore From New Orleans
The Yankee Clipper, Pan American Airways new trans Atlantic plane, touched down in Baltimore after a six hour and 57 minute flight from New Orleans. Thousands watched as the Bermuda Clipper arrived nearby and the two ships were escorted by National Guard planes. The test crew and Boeing technicians praised the craft's performance as Mayor Jackson welcomed the visitors and Captain Gray noted an uneventful, clear flight at 16,000 feet. Tomorrow the clipper will be hauled out for further testing on the airport ramp.

Fumes Blamed For Rising Sun Deaths
In Rising Sun Maryland on February 25 a coroner said fumes from a coal stove likely caused the deaths of elderly Mrs. Clara Horn and her grandson George Horn in their packing plant home.
