Col Sedgwick Rice U S Cavalry retired died February 15th at Fort Brown Texas Burial held February 20th in Arlington National Cemetery Washington with military honors Rice born March 2 1860 in St Paul Minnesota Commissioned 1862 he served 42 years including Indian campaigns Cuban occupation and Philippines service Awarded the Distinguished Service Medal For his Army service he commanded the 12th Cavalry at Fort Brown At Arlington service was led by Chaplain Aston and honored by fellow officers He left a widow and several children in attendance
