Potomac Lodge of Odd Fellows received a new charter from Grand Master A Frank Miller after a Sunday morning fire destroyed their temple. Insurance totals about 47 000 with a total loss of 90 000 for building and equipment. Restoration plans include tearing down rear walls, leaving the front granite wall, and seeking a new meeting place for all branches. Plans for regional meeting and 100th anniversary on April 15 loom as 1 900 members from seven states expected. Sonny Schlotterbeck of Cearfoss Pike was slightly injured when struck by a car near his home.

Two Die In Auto Crash Near Mont Alto Sanatorium
Two young men died and a third was injured when a coupe left a dark road on a sharp curve near the Mont Alto Sanatorium road. R Henry Richards 21 of McConnellsburg and Harry E Armstrong 18 of Mercersburg were killed. Wayne Taylor 19 of Mercersburg survived with a fractured shoulder and other injuries after a date at a cottage. Police said Richards drove at high speed and struck a tree after warning from Taylor.

Negro admits to slugging in Federalsburg store
George Roberts, 31, colored, of Federalsburg confessed after arrest yesterday afternoon to assaulting William Fisher, 57, in Fisher's Church and Jonathan streets store. Fisher suffers a deep scalp wound and possible skull fracture, and is hospitalized. Roberts, who served two Maryland corrections terms, said he struck twice with a bottle and had a flatiron as a weapon.
