Changes At City Hall Are Planned
The Mayor and Council will receive bids for alterations in City Hall at their regular meeting February 17. Plans call for moving the court room from the ground floor to the second floor former officers rest area. The two magistrates offices were moved there last year. Half of the court room becomes a work room for the light office and the other half a rest room for officers.

Five killed in train automobile crash near Salt Lake City
A car collided with a train near Salt Lake City on Monday. Three men and two women died, the vehicle being dragged about 300 feet along the right of way. The driver was Lewis Criddie, 34, and police say the car traveled roughly 60 miles per hour.

Charles Town West Virginia February 9 John C Skinner resigned from the House of Delegates to take the Jefferson County prosecutor post created by the death of John T Porterfield. The county court chose Skinner to serve until the November general election to complete the remaining two years of the term. He will assume office February 15 and had been elected to the Legislature in 1936.
