Coed and Date Struggle Through Four Foot Snow Drifts
Beverly Ohlson and Robert Bolasny trudged four feet of snow for miles to reach a television relay station near Castle Rock Colorado. Rescuers located Miss Ohlson and Bolasny ten miles from their car on Rampart Range Road. The pair, students at the University of Colorado Denver, were rescued after three days in severe cold. The Ohlsons, a Denver chiropractor and his wife, drove Sunday for a visit. their car bogged down and the family huddled in the vehicle awaiting help. Miss Ohlson suffered a broken ankle discovered at Englewood Hospital. the cold numbed the pain.

Weather Brings More Snowslides On Idaho Montana Border
Mild weather and scattered showers forecast today accompany reports of further snowslides along the Idaho Montana border. Yesterday’s slides trapped two transcontinental trains, closed highways, but caused no injuries. Rail lines on the Milwaukee and Northern Pacific routes were disrupted, with one diesel derailed and buried in snow. Highways 10 and 10-A were shut briefly as Bitterroot snow reached up to 12 feet on US 2 between Nyack and East Glacier. A slide east of Wardner near Tako killed one and injured three yesterday.

Riot at Utah State Prison cites broad grievances
In Point of the Mountain Utah an inmate known as Buck Nielsen said the riot that drew 500 plus prisoners began from multiple complaints. The unrest involved chow, officers, and the corrections board as officials, including Gov Clyde, tried to confer with prisoners via intercom in Block 2 and the chapel area. Guard Monte Hammond and another guard were wounded during the disturbance.
