Bookie raid nets proprietor and ten customers
Police raided a Franklin Mulberry street building early Saturday afternoon arresting John West 42 owner of the alleged bookmaking operation and ten customers. They seized two telephones betting charts and papers. West posted 2500 bond for trial. Five customers fled to the third floor as investigators and officers confined others. A county investigator took bets by phone during the raid.

Two Men Jailed for Larceny of Three Chickens
S. W. Munson, 65, and Harry Wilson, 68, were sentenced to 96 days in Washington County Jail by Magistrate John D. Dunn for stealing three chickens from Mrs. Ida A. Muller of the 290 block West Side Avenue. Patrolman Fred ard, alerted by burning feather odor in Bloom's alley early Saturday, found three dressed chickens in a pail. Mrs. Muller reported the missing birds Friday night.
