Hagerstown High Student Joins National Advisory Board

Miss Ann Bondurant of Hagerstown High School has been named one of thirteen students nationwide to serve on the Student Advisory Board of Student Life the national magazine for secondary students. Principal John D. Zentmyer nominated her for the honor. The award reflects the school’s strong record.

Board Approves Assessment Bill in Special Session

Board of County Commissioners in special session approved the principle of permanent assessments with exceptions to a statewide bill before the General Assembly. Accompanied by County Attorney Wagaman Tax Supervisor Gantz and County Clerk Black, they head to Annapolis to testify before the Senate Finance Committee and meet Eastern Shore colleagues for a discussion of the act. The board supports two permanent assessors, one Republican and one Democrat, to work with the Tax Supervisor in the program.

Warning Issued on Snow Removal in Hagerstown

Chief of Police William E. Peters prepared last night to secure warrants for property owners in all sections of the city delinquent in removing snow from pavements. After a city inspection, offenders were found citywide. A 24 hour grace period was announced before warrants are served.
