New Emanuel United Brethren Church Dedication Draws 207

Large crowds attended dedication services for Emanuel United Brethren Church with over 10 000 in subscriptions announced. The project, begun in 1923 by 111 charter members, totals 26 900 construction cost and 9 362 remaining to secure. The building seats 450 and includes a basement for Sunday School activities.

Thieves Take Prewar Whisky From Hull Home

More than a thousand dollars worth of pre-prohibition whisky was stolen from E. V. Hull’s Banks town Pike home while the family was away between 7 30 and 11 Saturday night. The liquor, bought in 1917, was found in a second floor room. Thieves left by a rear porch pole, broke a second floor window, and tracks suggest the liquor was loaded into a car. Sheriff Duffey is investigating.
