Christmas Program At First Baptist Church Enchants Members
The First Baptist Church held its annual Christmas entertainment in the church auditorium. The Intermediate and Junior departments directed by Mrs. J P Richards and Miss Elsie Horst performed special selections with glee club numbers. Rev Paul B Watlington led the devotional. Elizabeth Ebersole sang It Came Upon a Midnight Clear and A H Sherman spoke for the Sunday school. A playlet titled Christmas in all Nations was presented with Virginia Reed at the piano. Sherman on behalf of the Sunday School presented tokens to Watlington and Lynn.

Funeral Services Largely Attended for Lancelot Jacques Sr
The funeral for Lancelot Jacques Sr was held yesterday afternoon in Smithsburg. Friends from all sections of the county attended to pay final tribute to the distinguished citizen whose sudden death shocked the community. Services were conducted by Rev Clarence Wolfe of St Ann's Episcopal Church, Smithsburg, of which Jacques was a member. Floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.
