Toronto officials blamed a switchman for the Dundas Christmas night wreck that killed 15. The brake man on the aid-tracked excursion train, E B Lynch, threw the switch in a moment of confusion, believing the London Toronto excursion to be on the mail line, causing the Detroit Toronto express to crash into his own train.
