Peabody Kansas December 23 A. D. Allison and wife of Wichita recall sending homemade candy to a Peabody bank eleven years ago now stored in the vault since 1921. The box was recently found and returned to the Allisons, who are puzzled by its long confinement.
Henry Lane Wilson aged 76, former U S diplomatic representative in Chile Belgium and Mexico, died late today in Indianapolis after years of illness. He resigned from service in 1913 and pneumonia was the immediate cause. The piece notes Americas built 33.2 percent of the world’s 777000 miles of track.
Chinese irregulars shot down a Japanese bombing plane near Wan Pau Shan twenty miles northeast of Changchun. The plane targeted a camp of irregulars and was struck by anti aircraft fire, causing the engine to explode. one crewman was killed and another seriously wounded.
