Birds Outfoxed By Joe Fink At Inaugural Parade
Joe Fink 63 of Wilmette and eight workers spent 12 days spraying 100 trees along Pennsylvania Avenue with a chemical he invented 22 years ago to deter birds from landing during presidential inaugurations. The $10,000 contract with the Parks Department guarantees birds stay away for at least four months, preventing sky clutter and umbrella hassles during parades. This will be Fink’s first inauguration to witness the results of his work.
