Reverend Sloop Speaks at Kiwanis Luncheon on Christmas
Rev Roy L Sloop pastor of St Mark's Lutheran addressed the Kiwanis Club at Hotel Alexander praising Christmas spirit amid global unrest. One Person Hurt In Auto Accident
Miss Dorothy Kountz suffered a broken nose when the cars driven by Mrs. Sadie Rowe and Paul A. Robinson collided on West Washington Street late last night. Patrolman Jack Britcher charged Rowe with auto law violations. Kountz was taken to the hospital by Albert Griher.

Southern Engineering Society Reaches Ninety Five Members
The Southern Engineering Society reported 95 members at its regular meeting with 80 in attendance at Hotel Hamilton. President W A Rosenberger noted rapid growth and urged joining before hitting 100 or before December 31 to avoid initiation fees thereafter. The eighth meeting approved weekly Saturday gatherings from 4 to 6 pm with music by Smalling Hin Parker’s Radio Ranchers and performances by Michael Cozzoli.

Police arrest 208 UAW members in Detroit literature sweep
Police loaded 208 union members into patrol wagons and hauled them to headquarters to halt another UAW effort to distribute literature at Ford. Of those arrested 203 were charged with obstructing task and released.
