Daring HoldUp Near Sidell Ends in Shootout
A band of five robbers fleeing with about $15,000 from the Citizens Bank of Clinton, Indiana, were pursued by a large posse. Two bandits died in ruins near a Sidell farm, three captured. a deputy sheriff Joe Walker was wounded, and one captive was hurt. The loot recovered included nearly $11,000 dropped on the run and $2,000 found in pockets. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Lawrence Clopper in Blair Valley.

At Hagerstown High School a Rice Ridge Transportation first aid team led three demonstrations for Scoutmasters Training. Captain Leo Steinmetz supervised as volunteers treated rib and jaw fractures, a compound forearm fracture, arterial cut, and a revived unconscious patient using an inhalator.
