The Hagerstown High School gym hosted a Christmas dance organized by students. Decorations featured red and green lighting and three cellophane cubes. Bob Russell's orchestra played with trees, while Bob Feather performed a skit and Catherine Darby with Louise Bricker sang chorus numbers. Refreshments followed intermission.

Baskets were arranged for needy families. The program opened with carols and included The Rich Woman story by Mrs. Robert Conrad, a quartet performance, a solo by Mrs. J. S. Hade, Beecher as accompanist, plus games and gifts. Dainties were served.

Salvation Army kettles placed to fund Christmas treats
The Salvation Army set two kettles on streets to collect funds through Christmas. Proceeds will pay for a children’s party at the Salvation Army Home on Christmas nights and for Christmas baskets for needy families. About 200, including Sunday School members and children from needy homes, will be entertained. Frank Stephens of New York, arrested for two holdups, said he was trying to get money to marry.
