Mrs Catherine Socks received 60 days suspended and Mrs Nellie Spigler 30 days suspended for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct respectively.

Two people were treated at Washington County hospital this morning for minor injuries. Jack Pendleton of 509 North Mulberry street cut his hand when he fell playing football and required sutures. Connie Lowman of 14 Funkstown fell from a school bus, injuring her left ankle and had it strapped at the emergency room.

Speaking at a news conference during United Nations Commission on Human Rights sessions she noted the nation does not yet focus on positive democratic development nor fully trust its ability to handle all situations. She said the line between free speech and subversive activity remains unsettled and questioned if the traditional American tolerance for political opinions not advocating overthrow is changing.

City police investigate theft of a portable radio and record player from the principal's office at the West Washington Street school. The break in occurred this week and was reported by Patrolman Nervin Smith.
Attorney Paul S. Cleaveland and wife purchased the Harold H. Hutson stone one story dwelling on the Fairview to Rockdale road from Albert W. Gill for 21000. The 37 acre estate features a stream and Hutson’s historic stone house was razed for a modern residence. Carl Wilhelm Schleicher 36 a ground officer in the Army Air Forces was one of 23 killed when an ATC transport crashed in Labrador at midnight Tuesday He was brother of Mrs Thomas Johnston of Blue Ridge Summit son of Mr and Mrs Fred W Schleicher of near Chambersburg husband of Jane Knode daughter of Franklin County Farm Agent J H Knode of Chambersburg Schleicher had completed two years of a three year tour in Newfoundland and served in the army 17 years.
