Man Blinds Himself in Apparent Self-Harm Incident
Carl P. Nunamaker, 58, of the 800 block of South Potomac street, shot himself in the right temple with a .38 revolver at 8:50 this morning in his kitchen. The bullet severed nerves in his right eye and exited the left eye socket, leaving him totally blind. He clicked the hammer twice. the first round misfired. He was conscious when officers arrived and was taken to a hospital where his condition was listed as serious.
