Investigators abandon a murder theory in the Thomas Hopewell death probe after an autopsy found no fatal injuries. Hopewell, 45, found in a junk yard near Jonathan Street, World War veteran, had been drinking. two men with him are sought. Coroner will hear testimony Friday night.

Missing Youth Found After Eight Hour Search in Chicago
James Michael Redfield, 19 months old, son of University of Chicago professor Robert Redfield, disappeared from home and was found eight hours later with two neighborhood children led by vigilante students and faculty. Slayer sentenced to electric chair in Georgia murder
Hazelhurst Georgia December 10 Lawrence Ward 51 an itinerant repairman was convicted of murder for stomping his year old stepdaughter to death over reportedly having a date. The jury deliberated 50 minutes and Judge Gordon Knox set the execution date for January 29. A new trial motion was scheduled for January 15.
