Cascade Plant Destroyed By Fire At Cascade
Fire destroyed the Eader Textile Corporation plant at Cascade early yesterday morning. Loss estimated at 75000 by plant manager John E Fader. Origin of the blaze undetermined but started in the pattern room on the second floor and spread by the time firemen from Blue Ridge Summit and Waynesboro arrived. The plant near Camp Ritchie Maryland National Guard reservation had operated since April 1939 and employed 100 persons.

Woman Struck by Hit-and-Run Car in West Side Ave
Mrs. Vesta Ocker of Maugansville suffered a fractured wrist and sprained ankle when struck by a hit-and-run driver near the 100 block of West Side Avenue just before 7 PM Saturday. The fracture was set at the local hospital and Officer John Draper investigates to identify the driver.

Death by own action shocks Washington and Lee alumnus
E. D. Hundley, 20, Charlottesville, a Washington and Lee University alumnus, was found dead by a bullet at a Lexington fraternity house where he stayed over the weekend. Coroner B. T. Tompkins ruled the death a suicide.
