Pvt. A six year old boy, William L. Colvin of Sharpsburg, was hit by a truck on Sharpsburg Pike about two miles south of Hagerstown at 11 this morning. He was taken to a hospital with a deep scalp wound and possible skull fracture. Deputy Clever Reynolds investigated.
Nine year old Thomas E Dun ningan of 209 Summer street suffered head and leg injuries about 3 30 pm Friday when he darted into a car at Washington and McPherson streets and was struck by a city bus rear wheel. Officers said the accident was unavoidable and no charges will be filed. He received hospital treatment and did not appear seriously hurt.
Two local GIs returned from overseas yesterday. Cpl. John R. Schindel of Hagerstown arrived aboard the James Parker docking at New York while Staff Sgt. George A. Sites of Clearspring arrived at Portland Oregon aboard the Sea Flasher.
Mrs. Feigley of 100 South Mulberry reported to police yesterday the theft of her American flag and the flagpole from the front porch. The incident occurred on the property on Mulberry Street.

Gen. George C. Marshall testified before the Senate House committee that in late 1941 he believed 100 four engine bombers in the Philippines could have deterred Japan from aggression. He said the aim was to gain time to strengthen outposts as Pearl Harbor approached. He noted Japan would not have hazarded South China Sea operations or the attack on the Philippines with such a force.

The United States Navy announced the release to inactive duty of Lt. Edward B. Geiger of 1128 Hamilton Boulevard and Lt. William P. Orrick of 145 South Prospect Street at the U S Naval Personnel Separation Center in Washington D C.

Baltimore report details Conrad Furrows of Westfield Massachusetts arriving at Johns Hopkins with a long history of gunshot wounds and a seven foot eight inch frame.
