Teacher and class locked in one room schoolhouse

Mrs Valeria Jones, a teacher at Orchard Ridge School in Hancock district, says a group of rabbit hunters locked the front door and blocked exits with a heavy wire grating. Pupils and teacher pried open a cellar access, a boy crawled through a window to fetch a key, and they escaped without charges. No Trespassing signs were posted around the grounds.

Courthouse Addition Planned for Washington County

Work to start soon on a Civil Works administration funded wing to the Washington County Courthouse. Architect A J Klinkhart has plans for a 24240 foot addition at the southeast corner with fireproof vaults and new first and second floor offices. The project, costing about 25000 dollars, has state approval in Baltimore and includes new sheriff and assessor areas and relocated toilets.
