Churchill Downs racing classle at Louisville will be held on May 49 as announced by Col Matt J Winn executive director of the Kentucky Jockey Club. Winn says he is there for a short rest.
Attorneys for Heginald B Walters prepare a murder case with jury selection set to last several days. Key witnesses include a signed confession and autopsy findings. The trial will be followed by the murder case of Arthur Carr, moved from Cumberland, as the last major criminal matter of the term.
Alleged to have escaped from a West Virginia road gang while serving a sentence for liquor violations. Charles Shipper, at a home near Four Locks, was sought in Martinsburg. Meadows, arrested on theft charges at the Hart home near Four Locks, was found at the Shipper residence. Officers seized several barrels of mash. Shipper is the father in law of Nellie Shipper, arrested here with Meadows earlier for stealing bread. Shipley, another son in law, is held in Greencastle for aiding Meadows to dispose of a carload of chickens in a Pennsylvania town.

Mr and Mrs Frank Delander were called to the bedside of mother Delander who is seriously ill at the home of her daughter Mrs Wikershner of Roxbury. Mrs Frank Delander spent a few days with her sister of Marlinaburs.
