Farmers Warned To File 1943 Tax Returns
Washington county farmers must file estimated 1943 income tax returns and pay by December 15 to avoid penalties. Allan H. Mumma, Internal Revenue collector, announced at the post office building. Driver Convicted Fined By Justice
Wilbur Stanton Rowe of Myersville was convicted of operating a mobile under the influence of liquor and failing to yield the right of way. Magistrate John Hetzer in Williamsport fined Rowe $110 and costs after Deputy Leister Isanogle filed the charges following a Wednesday Greencastle Pike collision. Rowe’s auto sideswiped Melvin R. Stone of Hagerstown near Woodpoint. Rowe was arrested with his car bearing heavy damage and a missing tire.
