In Chicago a deadly flare up in the beer runner conflict left guard Wasett dead and another guard Wil Yoon Ean mortally wounded. An autoist, his wife, and a baby were also struck by flying glass and buckshot during the shootout. Thomas Keene died of his wounds in Joliet at St. Joseph's Hospital.

New York December 1 The slayers of Brooklyn bank messengers William S. Barlow and William S. McLaughlin who were robbed of 43000 and shot to death November 14 are jailed, authorities said. The killers are among those arrested this week and not at large as claimed by Diamond, the alleged mastermind. Police affirmed that Joseph Diamond, Barlow's younger brother, remains identified as one assassin, while other suspects were not named.
