Lark Venture Of Duffey Family In All Star Contest
The Duffey family from 38 North Avenue won runner-up in the Regional All Star Family Contest in Hershey Pennsylvania. They earned roses and season passes to local sports events after entering a 50 word essay and showcasing their talents as the Duffey Minstrels The Half-Dozen Duffeys. Ellis Duffey leads guitar while children Scott Craig Joel and Sue Ellen perform folk spirituals and country tunes with local carnival appearances noted. The family, Maryland based and the only non Pennsylvania entry, began performing after Ellis learned guitar from his father and later shared material with his children. Mrs Duffey stresses home priorities while Ellis coaches youth leagues in the area. The contest was televised locally and began when the family visited Annville PA and saw the park contest advertised.
