New FHA plan promises five percent down for houses under 2500
Washington Aug. 28 The Federal Housing Administration unveiled a plan insuring private loans for small homes costing up to 2500 with a 5 percent down payment. Loans run 15 years at a discount rate of 3.50 per 100 borrowed, insurers pay 0.5 percent annual premium, and typical home payments on a 2000 value would be under 17 dollars monthly, excluding taxes and insurance.

Dog sentenced to death after bite, Nebraska case
