Hagerstown guarantors of the Swarthmore Chautauqua staged a ticket selling contest at a YMCA meeting. R J Funkhouser challenged I Faul Smith to a duel over who is the best ticket seller as five rival teams formed to prove Swarthmore can fill the venue. Teams include Smith and Funkhouser. Verta and Foltz. Saxton and Lane. Relner and Grimes. Bradley and Kaytor.
An old advertisement promotes Dr Carey’s Marshroot Prescription 777 as a kidney medicine claiming to ease swelling, backache, and water retention.
