Mrs Gladys Odiene Smith a 62 year old nurse died after a two vehicle crash near a laundromat in Hagerstown Maryland. The other driver Ralph E Snyder 108 Wayside Ave faced charges for excessive speed. Mrs Smith lived at 1607 Wabash Ave with survivors including daughter Carol A Lake and two sons George L and Robert L. Services were set for 2 pm at Norment Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Three aboard small plane crash near Ocean City
Coast Guard units recovered a sunken white and blue Piper Tri-Pacer in Sinepuxent Bay after an early morning crash. Two men, Wallace Garrett and Robert High, were rescued and hospitalized in Salisbury in satisfactory condition. A third occupant, identified as a woman from Adelphi, Md, remains missing.
