Woman in Men's Clothes Arrested in Rail Yard
A 1938 case reports Stacy and Lochiel Guy of Kentucky arrested in Western Maryland yards for trespassing while planning to hop a freight. They received suspended sentences after appearing before Magistrate C Edward Heard. Lieut. Chapman learned one prisoner was a woman after ten minutes. Two trail-riders were also arrested. one got five days and a Negro with a past record received 20 days in jail.

Plan Open House At Orphans Home San-Mar
The annual open house and visiting day at the Orphans Home at San-Mar is scheduled for Wednesday August 31 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dinner and supper are offered at a nominal price with country ham sandwiches and other refreshments. Afternoon and evening entertainment includes Miss Esther Le Van on xylophone and a German Band after supper, plus additional acts. Proceeds support winter clothing for the children and auxiliary dues, with hope for strong attendance in line with prior years.

Pedestrian Struck by Car on Washington Street
R R Grooms a 51 year old Shenandoah railroader sustained a broken left leg after being struck by a car driven by A H Johnson near Chambersburg. Patrolmen charged Johnson with reckless driving and he posted collateral for a hearing. Two other mishaps on Frederick street and Locust and Antietam streets caused no injuries.
