Chester Delphy and John Knode, outboard motorboat endurance speedsters, halted their attempt to set a new world record on the Potomac at Dam No. 4 at 10 this morning after a generator failure. The pair started Friday at 4 PM and ran up and down the river, seeking a world mark of 190 hours, and are likely to try again.
The British airship BR 100 completed an 18 day 6500 mile voyage to Canada and back, mooring at its home mast at 12 02 p m EST. The 56 hour 12 minute crossing from St Hubert Montreal averaged 55 mph, the fastest return journey by a lighter than air craft to date. Continued on page 13.
Police say Frank Bartscer and wife Hat tie were found dead on a couch in their Westport home with bullet wounds and a pistol nearby. The door was locked from inside and a note was not found. an unopened telegram and a scrap with be back at 4 o'clock were found as officers searched for motives.

Charles Tall a Williamsport real estate operator suffered an acute heart attack in front of the Court House this morning and was removed to the hospital. He had fallen in the court house corridor about two days earlier and needed a physician's aid. Gus Frohman dies in New York at 76 after a month's illness, brother of Daniel Frohman and the late Charles Frohman.
Weather outlook for the week beginning Monday shows showers at the start and again midweek. Cool conditions persist most of the week with a slight warmup in the latter half across the North and middle Atlantic states.
Luther Churchey, 32, was ordered jailed without bond after a coroner's jury found he viciously stabbed Roscoe Lewis, 34, during a Wednesday quarrel near Flickersville. Lewis died Thursday afternoon from chest and abdominal wounds after hospital treatment.
Squire D. Eurich, noted local air pilot, added parachute jumping to his training and made his first successful jump from a plane at about 3000 feet in Greensboro North Carolina. Ted Lungren of Los Angeles launched a world flight from Roosevelt Field at 9 14 AM EST bound for Old Orchard Beach Maine but fog forced him to turn back after about thirty minutes and he landed at Mitchell Field New York.

Mrs. Fannie Katz wife of Sergeant J E Katz in charge of the state police substation near Frederick was summoned to appear before Magistrate George Benson at Westminster. She allegedly sold spiked soft drinks at the Taneytown Fair with reports of 73 cents per bottle. Officer Katz formerly led the Hagerstown state police station and is well known locally.
Moore survey of crops in Washington County for Dr. Symons finds two million dollar dairy and crop damages from drought. Washington County ranks fourth in state losses with Frederick, Montgomery and Carroll higher. Corn hay alfalfa milk and fruit crops show significant declines though wheat and rye were spared.
President Hoover ordered advance apportionment of $125,000,000 in federal road aid for next year. Governors at the drought relief conference said the move would help relieve unemployment and suffering, with states to receive funds by September 1 rather than January 1.
Five people including Yourtes Campbell and Carl Crampton of Antietam were arrested by dry agents in moonshine camps and held on $1,000 bond each. John Boyer, 33, Antietam, also faced борd charges with interference. Agents reported seizing 660 tons of whiskey and 200 gallons of mash in the raids.
