New regulations limit private use to five gallons in approved red safety containers kept away from flame with ventilation. Larger farm storage allowed for private use. Violations carry up to 300 dollar fine pending AG approval.

New York Aug 14 Official warning to Basstern Seaboard states from Maine to Florida that gasoline rationing would follow if voluntary conservation programs fail. Dr John J Frey director of marketing for the Office of Petroleum Coordination for national defense said rationing could be avoided with sufficient public response to the campaign. No definite plan is ready yet.
Baltimore news reports a statewide drive to enroll volunteer craftsmen for mechanical work in England. WW Carroll Mead of Baltimore is named State representative of the British Technical Corps. Qualified applicants with radio and allied technical skills will receive lodging, food, clothing, and $24 to $28 weekly.
Annapolis, Aug 14. The governor's office said the Third Corps commanding general requested 720 white and 117 black men for September induction. A prior call covered 615 white and 177 black. deliveries are set for September 8 to 15 with specific white and black quotas on each date.
The U S Department of Agriculture announces 1941 42 tenant purchase loans in Washington county. Loans run forty years with no down payment and a three percent interest rate.
