Reverend Dr F Berry Plummer, leader and pastor of St Pauls United Brethren Church in Hagerstown, forwarded a letter to Democratic candidate David J Lewis replying to Lewis position on the 18th Amendment and the Prohibition Act. Lewis said he has obeyed the laws since they became law and would enforce them if elected. Plummer prepared multiple interviews and did not press Congressman Zihlman for the same questions. Foil Attack Foiled on Derby Winners at Saratoga Stables
A fire set by intruders aimed at the Kentucky Derby winner Reigh Count and the Futurity victor Anita Peabody was blocked by watchman and guard dogs at the Hertz and Madden stables. Investigators found kerosene soaked rags and two men fled as trainers and handlers arrived. Also in the Hertz complex were Nettie Stone, a recent 25000 dollar purchase, and other horses Scallaway and Nearby in Madden barns.

Five Fined On Booze Charges In County Court
Adam Repp and Alfred Hartman paid fines of 50 dollars each for violating the county dry law in city court this morning. Repp faced liquor selling charges while Hartmanen had seven cases of homebrew seized at his place along Old Forge Road.
