Four Killed In Navy Plane Collision At Huntington Airport
Huntington West Virginia August 12 three occupants of a Navy twin Beechcraft and the pilot of a single engine Aeronca trainer were killed when the planes collided midair a few hundred feet above the Chesapeake Ohio airport and crashed on the Ohio River bank. Navy authorities said the flight was training to accumulate hours for reserve commissions. Mayes the airport owner noted the Beechcraft overtook the Aeronca during approach and that an investigation will be conducted by the Civil Aeronautics Authority.
