Ration Adjustments Raise Points for Ham Pork Loins and Fish

Ration values for ready to eat ham rise by two points per pound while cooked varieties follow. Canned fish returns to rationing due to scarce supply with salmon tuna and shrimp at six points, mackerel and sardines at four, oysters and misc fish at two. A new red stamp four becomes valid weekly, with 30 or 40 point periods. Beef and lamb top grades remain on list. butter and cheeses see point increases.

More Pennsy Cars Lack Auto Stamps

Deputy Internal Collectors report that more Pennsylvania vehicles in the business district are found without a Federal auto tax stamp than any other state. Three deputies patrol the city today and have asked the City Police Department to assign a uniform officer to help. The check up will continue indefinitely.

Four counties plan Western Maryland Volunteers Association

Volunteer firemen from Allegany Garrett Washington and Frederick counties met to plan amalgamation into a four county Western Maryland Volunteers Association. Vice President H A Lasher said the plan has preliminary county approvals, with William Eckton of Hagerstown named temporary president.
