Bruce T. Bair, Westminster lawyer, was elected commander of Maryland’s American Legion department in a sharp contest. Samuel J. Cohen withdrew, leaving Bair to succeed J. Bryan Hobbs as leader. Delegates from 84 of 95 posts attended the final session at the Masonic Temple as membership hit a record 7,874.
