Longest tridge construction on Conococheague Creek
The State Roads Commission begins building a new bridge across Conococheague Creek on Fairview road between Fairview and Cearfoss. Contracts total about 40000 dollars with two and a half miles of road on both sides. Bester-Long Co. handles road and concrete abutments. Jones & Laughlin supplies steel. a separate concrete floor contract is pending. Two spans at 123 feet each, total bridge length 266 feet. Supervising engineer is Samuel Greenawalt. Work will pause traffic about six weeks. completion aimed for November 1. Nine miles of good highway after approach roads, work already started.

Fliers land at Old Orchard Maine in long flight plan
Roger Q Williams, a trans Atlantic flyer, arrived at Old Orchard Beach in his mono vemine Olympia to fly to Athens Greece.
