A good crowd attended the weekly bridge session at Fountain Head Country Club last evening. North-South winners were Mrs. C Funkhouser and Mrs. Robert Triesler, with Christy McEwen pair second and Urner and McLaughlin third. Mrs. Vic Miller Jr. posted a net 68 for first in the first flight of the Monthly Handicap as Fountain Head Country Club’s 18 hole ladies group met Tuesday. Rob ert Fridinger was second with 72. In the second flight Charles Barclay won with 69 and H. Q. Hamrich was second at 72. The Pro's Tournament final round went to Leonard Mathias and Robert Bohman with 287, narrowly beating Wilson Caskey and Frank McCraw at 288. A return match vs Hillendaly Country Club is set for Friday August 5 in Baltimore. bus departs Fountain Head at 7 am and returns by 6 pm. The group reminds members to sign up for the Championship Tournament by Saturday.

Newcomers Picnic Brings Welcome Wagon Members Together
The Evening Group of the Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club and members of the Ten Pin Bowling League gathered at Cold Spring Park near Waynesboro for a family picnic. Attendees swam, played horseshoes and cards, shared picnic foods, and enjoyed games. The group plans another picnic and holds a Venice Restaurant meeting on September 12 to elect officers.
