Vets Visit Local Plants To Urge Increased War Production
Two wounded veterans from the present war will visit Victor Products plants in Hagerstown today to address workers on raising production to help defeat Japan. Sgt Angelo V Speragna of New Jersey and Pvt Alfred E Westle of Philadelphia, both at Valley Forge General Hospital, are assigned to the Third Service Command. Speragna, with three battle stars, Purple Heart and Good Conduct, fought in Normandy and Germany. Westle, of the 759th Tank Battalion, saw action in Africa, Sicily, and Italy and was wounded three times. he also was a German prisoner for a week.
