Supreme Dictator William J. Egan of Newark attended the Maryland and Border States Moose Association spring conclave in Hagerstown. About 600 members gathered at Odd Fellows Temple and Moose Home with 200 initiated in ceremonies led by a Maryland-Virginia team. The event featured a parade, initiation of Loyal Order of Moose members, and a memorial for George W. Coffinbarger. Mooseheart’s 25th anniversary and future graduates were noted.

The Maryland association conclave opened at Odd Fellows Temple with P L Rhodes and secretary T M Bearer in attendance. State Senator Ernest W Miller delivered an afternoon address as district deputy supreme dictator Anthony Bitters also spoke. A July 29 31 convention in Annapolis was announced. The Martinsburg Lodge presented a framed portrait of the late George W Cofinbarger to the local lodge.

Assistant Director Tolson to Speak at Lions Club Luncheon
Clyde A Tolson assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation will speak at the Lions Club weekly luncheon in the Hotel Alexander ballroom tomorrow at noon. Tolson born near Laredo Missouri graduated from George Washington University Law School and was admitted to the District of Columbia bar in 1938. He has served as secretary to three Secretaries of War and has been an FBI special agent since 1938 and assistant director since 1930. He is a Navy reserve lieutenant commander and member of Masons Sigma Nu and Phi Delta Phi with advisory ties to the World Police group and honorary Maryland Police Chiefs Association.

Andrew Tancos of Springfield D. was fined $100 and costs for driving an automobile while under the influence of liquor by Magistrate Walter Sleasman at Smithsburg yesterday. Tancos was arrested by Deputy Leister in Shnagle on the Leitersburg Pike shortly after midnight Sunday morning.

One-Man Shows Opening Tonight at Washington County Museum
Miss Patty Willis and Mr. Charles Harsanyi head two one man shows opening this evening at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. Paul Staley ten and Eugene Alexander nine, both Pinesburg boys, suffered broken legs when an express wagon collided with a car between Williamsport and Pinesburg Saturday. They were reported improving at Washington County Hospital. Driver Lewis Rudy of Pinesburg said the wagon rode from a driveway into his path and could not avoid the crash. one boy rode and the other pushed the wagon at impact.
