Police chase after a stolen car ends in two patrolmen killed in North Philadelphia. Sgt Samuel Hewitt, 47, and Officer James Quigley, 35, were fatally shot as they pursued a suspect described as an escapee from Staatsburg private delinquent school.
In memory of Charles Blickenstaff who died three years ago on April 23. His family recalls the loss, the sudden call, and the pain of parting with one so dear. Ruth Katherine Johnson is mourned by her husband James A. Johnson on the third anniversary of her death.

It introduces time and a half overtime on passenger runs after eight hours though basic wages remain unchanged. The agreement based on time and distance affects crews on both short and long trips. Signatories include H H Porch of Cumberland Md and B of L F and Enginemen leaders.
