Pioneer Home Restored in Williamsport by Dr Heffner
Dr Benjamin Heffner of Williamsport restored a seven room log house using logs from two old houses and a barn. The logs date to 1178 and include walnut sills and red oak floors cut on the Heffner property. Local artisans built it with modern fixtures for lighting heating and plumbing. Architects were George Chapman and William Beard.

Tourists moving north and south detour around Hagerstown because of unfavorable traffic conditions. Dr Homer E Tabler of the State Roads Commission told Mayor W Lee Elgin that a traffic count shows many travelers on Route 11 detouring along the Greencastle pike and Williamsport due to heavy traffic and double parking on Jonathan street and Summit avenue. Mayor Elgin called for steps to fix the situation.

Building plan proposed for combined city county complex
A proposed plan foresees a one million dollar city county building to house city hall court house and jail by late 1937 or 1938 with government grants covering 45 percent of costs and a 55 percent loan repaid at two percent annually.
