JAIL DELIVERY AT MARTINSBURG JAIL
Four white men and a negro escaped from Berkeley County Jail in Martinsburg Friday night. Sheriff Thomas reported that no trace of the fugitives remained by Saturday morning. Outside help allegedly handed laws to prisoners through jail windows during the breakout. The escapees were Budd Simms Jim Nicholson Alfred Stolipher Edgar Webb and Allen Anthony all facing or serving liquor or robbery charges.
