The Lockheed Constellation, flying for Transcontinental & Western Air, completed a cross continent flight from Burbank to Washington in 6 hours 58 minutes, averaging nearly 355 mph. Trial Of Jones To Start Tomorrow

Daniel Lester Jones, 44, indicted for raping a nine year old girl, was moved to Frederick county jail yesterday. His trial set for tomorrow before a full bench in Frederick. He had been held at Washington county jail since late February. Officers say he confessed to attacking the girl near the B and O tracks south of Hagerstown, claiming intoxication and amnesia during questioning.

Prices cut on New England frozen fish and halibut

The Office of Price Administration announced a price drop effective Saturday for New England frozen fish and frozen halibut landed in Canada and Alaska. Retail prices will fall seven to eight cents per pound, with processor levels reduced about 20 percent.
