Colorado Springs April 17. Six Negroes are in custody under heavy guard after an attack on Miss Georgia Lindley and James O'Brien, both Colorado College students. Lindley is hospitalized with shock and facial wounds. O'Brien was treated and released. Police hunt for a seventh suspect as officials urge calm to prevent mob violence.

Farmer Wounded in 1912 to Get Artificial Legs
Jacob Gompert, 69, a Mitchell area farmer, will receive a new pair of artificial legs funded by a $1,500 loan from the Omaha Federal Land Bank to buy essential farm equipment. Gompert lost his legs in 1912 when he was caught beneath a mowing machine.
