The House labor committee approved a revised wage hour bill by 14 to 4, proposing a graduated minimum wage from cents to 40 cents in three years and a two year shift to a 40 hour workweek. It also bans interstate shipment of products made by child labor.

In front of the R and G department store last night two youths and a 14 year old girl broke a large plate glass window. W F Bates 22 of 300 block Central avenue Kathryn Stevens 18 of 100 block South Walnut street and the 14 year old girl were arrested by Patrolman L C Karn on charges of disorderly conduct and destruction of property. Victoria became queen of England in 1837 less than a month after her 18th birthday.
Potomac Edison officers and directors were reelected at the annual stockholders meeting in Frederick. President R Paul Smith reported a 1937 tax bill of 915000 and noted the Cumberland river plant expansion to 30 kilowatts will be completed in June. Revenue rose 8.2 percent while fuel costs and wages increased. new bus purchases and expanded appliance sales were highlighted.

A large delegation of Hagerstown and Boonsboro Lions will travel to Frederick on April 20 to hear Frank V. Birch president of Lions Clubs International speak at Hood College Coblentz Hall.
