Princess Anne Md April 14 Rural Somerset County farmers face a strange egg rash as hens lay eggs in every nook and corner from houses to hedges and even a locust tree. Eggs sell for 18 cents a dozen, with farmers hoping vegetables and later strawberries ease the surge.
In Washington on April 14 the Senate trial of Federal Judge Halsted Ritter of Florida heard a prosecution claim that evidence proves guilt on all counts, while the defense calls Ritter an honorable and upright man after a thorough investigation. Four hours were allotted for closing arguments before a verdict is due by Wednesday.

In Chestertown Maryland on April 14 the murder trial of Thelma Buxton depends on a mental condition report to be shown to the circuit court next week. The 25 year old has been a patient at Spring Grove mental hospital since shortly after the killing of her mother in law last fall. The report from Dr George H Preston State Commissioner of Mental Hygiene will assess her condition. Prosecutors and witnesses testified she hacked Effie Buxton to death with a hatchet in her husband Kenneth Buxton's apartment.
Members of the Board of Street Commissioners and Street Superintendent Joseph D. Baker surveyed Hagerstown streets yesterday to prepare the summer repair and construction program. Many damaged streets have been patched but some require resurfacing and concrete alterations are requested by the mayor and council. The Street Board will discuss the plan at tonight's meeting.
Daniel R. Randall, a Baltimore lawyer and authority on early Maryland history, died at his home after a three week illness. Born in Annapolis in 1864, he was the son of Maryland’s Attorney General during the Civil War.
