Brookville Telegraphist is Killed in Railroad Tower
A 54 year old telegrapher Katherine Bracken was beaten and slashed to death in a Brookville railroad signal tower. A 100 man posse searched roads and lines for the murderer amid reports of possible sexual assault and involvement by more than one person. BRUNSWICK Md April 11 Reed Thompsons rooster cost Thompson $1 for a pair of stockings and $1 for a doctors bill plus court costs. He was before Justice William H Campbell on a charge of permitting a vicious rooster to run at large on a public street. Mrs Mervin Taylors testimony said the rooster spurred her tearing stockings and inflicting a deep wound. Thompson pleaded not guilty but the justice assessed costs and $1 for stockings and $1 for treatment of the spur wound.
