Gerald Chapman, alias Cinergo Chartres, was executed at 12 04 this morning in Wethersfield Connecticut for the murder of Policeman James Skelly during a department store robbery in New Britain on October 14 1924. The automatic hanging machine ended his crime ridden life after seven minutes and a half. He had begun his crime career at age 16 and faced several last minute clemencies before the fatal drop. Chapman's body was claimed for burial in Hartford after his execution and he was linked to a $1 464 000 mall truck robbery in New York among other plots Channel.
