Fugitives Sent To Pen After Prison Escape
A prisoner escaped from the Roxbury State Prison farm on August 15, 1936, and was recaptured to finish a three and one half year sentence at Maryland Penitentiary. William Oliver alias Luther Sullivan, from Prince Georges county in 1936 for chicken larceny, escaped a month after transfer. Wounded in a Washington gun battle, he later fled Gallinger hospital, was later found in Wilmington, North Carolina, and returned to the Pen.
