Five Men Charged in Dayton Wife Murder Case

Her husband William Thornton Frank Kent Thomas Shields and William Murray alias Ford Matto were arrested on murder charges. Herget, son of a wealthy distiller, left in trust after death. The suspects were intoxicated and unable to speak by noon. Herget's maiden name was Mary Sellinger of Clyde Ohio. The couple had no children.

Horse Falls Break Leg During Elks Parade
Alfred Tibbet was seriously injured when his horse slipped on Chester avenue near Railroad avenue during the Elks parade. The animal ran onto the sidewalk and fell, breaking Tibbet's leg between the ankle and knee. He was taken to Page sanitarium where Dr. Taggart set the fracture.
